You have everything you need to do a complete reinstall backed up on CD right? Of course you have to reinstall the driver for your flash drive. You have a copy of that handy too right? There is no point in running Win 98 these days unless you have a specific reason for doing so, but there is no need to trash your computer. If you have a Pentium III or higher you can always install Windows 2000. You don't come across as someone who would build your own computer so I guess you will be buying a shiny new machine with Vista preinstalled.
