You are very patient.
It should be noted that your Windoze computer
only keeps 5 days worth of backups;
after that it becomes more difficult to fix many things.
Expeditiousness is generally a good idea in dealing with problems.

You're probably refering to "a warm boot".
"Soft boot" means you execute a piece of software to do the reboot.

|and get a [task listing], among which [is one] that says:
|Hphmon06 (not [responding])
|
When you get an error message, it is a good idea to feed that into a search engine.
The more distint the words, the more likey you will get useful information.

A term that is as singular as yours is a slam-dunk:

(I've tweaked the seach string a bit to weed out the junk.)

You have junk loading at Startup
which you DON'T NEED loading at Startup:

It is likely that item is broken and needs to be uninstalled
http://groups.google.com/groups/search?q=How-to-uninstall+Add/Remove-programs
--and **if you find that you actually miss it**, reinstall it.

Internet
Exploder and/or Outbreaks
in Excess may also be broken.
This could be due to an infection due to the massive security holes in those programs.
