The links which he provided have helped me to install Flash Player 10 on my Windows
98SE machine. The key was installing KernelEx (to patch my Win9x kernel): this made use of the Microsoft Layer for Unicode (UNICOWS.DLL), which is still available
as a download from Microsoft.
In any case, I have no trouble running YouTube on my Windows 98SE machine, which
I've been doing for years.
All you need in order to run YouTube in Win98SE is a late version of Flash Player
9, available e.g. from this link: FP_AX_CAB_INSTALLER.exe.
