i have searched for answers to these problems before bothering you all with this
stuff. i have used panda antivirus, spybot search & destroy and superantispyware.
all problems have been supposedly fixed.
i have noticed an increase in krnl386.exe error messages, so perhaps that is the
root of all evils. i think there is a bigger problem and all the smaller issues popping
up are symptoms of that larger problem.
1. i no longer have access to my "folder options". it does not show up in "control
panel", nor can i select it from the "view" top menu item found in all folders.
2. from my "start" menu; if i try to open the "documents" folder, explorer crashes.
3. "new" no longer shows up when i right click on my desktop.
4. in any folder; if i select "file" from the top menu, the word "new" is missing,
yet i can proceed to select "folder" or "shortcut", even though those words are also
disappeared. if a file or folder is selected within the folder before i click on
"file" from the top menu; the words "send to" are missing, but i can proceed to "send
them to".
there are other problems, but the above ones all seem related somehow, so i'll leave
it at that for now. if anyone has any thoughts on this problem, then i would greatly
appreciate your input. i can usually fix my own computer problems, and those of other
people, but this one has me stumped.
