Hitchcock pulled a stunt like that in "Rope":
He had a camera angle where a door jamb obscured part of a gal sitting on a bed.
Everyone in the theater leaned to the right to get a better view
(of the gal on the 2-dimensional screen). 8-)

That's actually the contrast that I was trying to draw:
A setup prep'd by Carroll Shelby together with the factory boys
is going to have all the little details worked out.
An extra 300 pounds of mass under the hood
is going to load up the front suspension additionally,
will alter the front/back weight balance, and will significantly alter the handling.
The DIYer's try might be OK for going in a straight line for 1/4 mile,
but on the road it will likely be a real handful during an evasive maneuver.
A Vega was also significantly smaller and lighter-duty than a Mustang;
it was in the Pinto class.
...and, as you note,
this big mod will alter the amount of work that the brakes have to do
as well as the braking balance.
Your average DIYer doesn't do all the math nor buy all the necessary parts.
That is to say that if what the OP wants is a new M$ OS,
he should BUY NEW HARDWARE with that pre-installed.

...and you STILL haven't straightened out your sig.
