Sometimes when scrolling there was too much for the CPU to do even after a video card was installed. (That is, I started with the onboard video.) The screen would flash black. I rarely got a lockup and never got one after the video card was installed. I also installed an sound card to bypass the onboard sound. I still needed some moderate overclocking to eliminate problems.
