I had the same problem on my WinME machine. I tried everything with no luck. I finally
figured out it was missing sound kernels and developed a fix. If anyone else is having
these same symptoms of a properly installed sound card but "No Playback Devices"
is displayed, then try my fix. it can be found at www.driverguide.com by looking
up "MS Kernel for Sound" or try this link http://www2.driverguide.com/uploads/uploads18/19370.html
be sure to let me know how it works by posting a comment.
