If the system powers down, the keyboards led's should also go off as they are powered from the system. Some things like Hibernate to not work correctly with Windows ME on desktop systems. Go to Control Panel, Power Options, and Hibernate tab. Under Hibernate make sure the "Enable hibernate support" is NOT Checked. If it is, uncheck it and click Apply. Then in the Advanced tab, look for the "When I press the power button on my computer", change it too shutdown, not Standby.
