go back a few messages to one posted on Thursday "Can't get pass explorer.exe error message" for the boot disk, you can download one from your laptop at http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm save it to disk (to a folder) then put a floppy in the a drive, find the file and double click it.
