Thanks Joe for your input. My sister had NAV installed by a friend who helped her
clean up her PC a bit. He had a copy of NAV 2002 that he used to install it and
my sister updated online in March of this year. Whenever the computer is restarted
a popup error box occurs with the message: Norton AntiVirus was unable to start email
protection. There is also the red X next to "email scanning" in the NAV main window.
I did make sure the settings were correct and it does start up automatically and
still does the live update on schedule. I went to the symantec site which does give
some options to fix this, it's just that although I can follow instructions, it's
scary when I'm not really sure what I am doing. One thing it did say was to verify
or add the SYMTDI key. I can't seem to find this key, but then again, I'm not sure
that I'm looking in the right place either. Should I try to add it after backing
up the registry, or is this something that could be quite damaging if I do it incorrectly?
You "smart" people must get tired of shaking your heads at us "PC dummies":) I
really do appreciate your time, thanks again. Michele
