Throwing Things Away in Me

After reviewing the "what to throw away" article, I was inspired to try. I did a search for and found the various file types in the root directory and in the Windows folder (.LOG, .BAK, .---, etc.) and deleted things according to the article's recommendations. However, a lot of files of these types were in the various program file directory folders as well. Is it also safe to delete those?
