My computer won't shut down properly either. Eventually, I will fix the problem. Until then, what I do is press ctrl-alt-del (the dialog box shows rundll32 as the only task running) and then press ctrl-alt-del again. The computer reboots, as it is supposed to do. Then, when I click Start, then Shut Down the computer shuts down normally. Good luck. Let me know if you find a better solution. Paul Nordin
