i had the same problem once with my HD. i downloaded a program called Partition Magic
and it showed me a huge amout of drive space was unused. i just had to make a few
changes and got the space back. there are many programs like this one. try searching
the web.
And yea, the hd will show u lower disk space then it actually says, but the diffrence
is only of about a gig or 2.
