Windows has generic monitor PIF files for increased resolutions, however, the bit
depth and output resolution is entirely dependant on your graphics card and driver
ability. You must make sure your graphics card software/driver is up to date and/or
installed correctly before you can work with the monitor PIF file (Program Info File).
The monitor doesn't use a driver, rather it's called a PIF file as mentioned before.
A PIF file only tells Windows it's specifications and how to set it's electrical
parameters. That's why the graphics card drivers need to be correct and installed
before the system can identify the monitor as that's where the communication and
monitor ident is taken from..
So, make sure you have the latest graphics card drivers installed correctly and the
bit depth and resolution slider should be able to go higher if the monitor PIF file
is correct and installed..
