XP did come out in late Summer of 2001, large Manufactures do get the releases a
month or Two before the public. If you have had the Computer since new then You got
ME maybe right in the transitional stages of the switch to XP, hard to say really.
Your problem could be related to a piece of Bad Hardware, or just a old install
of Windows. I would usually just reinstall Windows when I am unsure, and if the install
goes Bad, then assume I have some Hardware problem, and start swapping out Parts
until I find the problem.
