Out of curiousity, what is the brand and model of the MP3 device? Reason being that
there are some being sold that have been mistakenly labeled as being compatible with
Win ME when in fact they aren't. In fact, NOT ONE that I have seen is truely compatible
with Win 9X without needing extra files installed. Win ME is just to old to support
the newer hardware. If it is, then it is an older model that still should need a
drivers disc in some cases and/or you will need a Win ME install disc for extra componants
to be added, something that an OEM computer manufacturer might not have done before
you purchasd the machine. Actually not a new issue with older Win 9X machines when
trying to install these particular devices. Support for these devices in Win 9X
should have all but disappeared by now.. :-(
