Thanks for the reply. Actually, this is more annoyance than any harmful problem.
Instead of canceling the request to locate drivers I just had it do an automatic
search and install, knowing full well that it wouldn't find anything. Checking Device
Manager showed 2 devices not fully installed (yellow exclamation points). Other
than that nothing at all. Subsequent boots do not ask me for drivers as these are
already established as devices without driver, devices that are not even physically
present. The NIC that I did install works wonderfully and outside of the DM, there's
no change to the computer. Since a new machine is in the cards not too far down
the road, I'm just going to let it lie. Thanks again for your input though.
