Hi DanTheMan,
I'm reluctant to appear as though I'm questioning anything Keith says, because he
has solved so many problems for me without ever knowing it, but I would also recommend
you consider Threatfire for your AV protection. It brings the smallest performance
hit of any AV program I have used, seems to be about as good as AVG, and doesn't
require updating every time you go online. Like AVG, it is free for personal use.
Regarding spyware, most people think Spybot Search & Destroy is the best; it doesn't
seem to involve any drag on performance and when I run a scan, it always finds something
the others miss.
