After exhaustive attempts at trying to figure it out and having found nothing that works, I decided that it'd be best to just go through the process of letting it think it was going to find drivers, knowing full well that it wasn't. I think you know what happens in that case. So DM has a couple of question mark labeled devices which I know do not exist and the wizard doesn't come up anymore. I tried to delete the devices as well but the wizards come back on each boot so there is just no need to beat this dead horse to death. Outside of the DM, the machine works very well, my friend is happily getting on line with no problems and she will be buying a new machine later this year anyhow so I'm just going to let it ride. Sometimes that is the best course of action. But thanks anyhow for the reply. Tech support forums site is very well organized and looks prettier than this one but I come here more often because it has what they are lacking (atleast for me and my own issues),... people who are willing to respond.
