What brand of computer are you using? Check with the computer manufacturer for an
upgrade advisory. There they can tell you what hardware and software if any will
and will not nwork and what you will need to replace them. Some times a bios update
is needed also. Or if you don't want to mess with it yourself have a professional
do it. Bestbuy is generally a good place to start, they can sell you what you need
and install it, update everything including bios if needed and have you on your way.
Now depending on age of computer it might be cheaper to buy a new system than to
update and upgrade old system. You may end up having to buy a new ps (power supply),
graphics card for the newer apps and games, DVD burner if you don't have one, a bigger
hard drive, and so on. The bottom line is money, how much are you willing to spend
to update and upgrade. For me I had an old hp pavilion w/me and upgraded it to xp
just to see if I could do it. It has a 20 gig hard drive, cd burner, floppy drive
and some software. Half of my software was incompatible. So I decided to buy a new
system and passed the old one on to the kids. Good luck.
