If these 2 Windows updates kb891711, kb918547 show up in add/remove Programs I think I would just uninstall them, and see what happens. Found a lot of Windows ME user complaints about the 2 updates, but not really sure how it relates to the Fuzzy problem. I don't have any Windows Updates installed on My WinME Computer, and it has run Great for 7 or 8 years now.
