Go to START > SETTINGS > DIAL-UP NETWORKING and then click CONNECTIONS > MAKE NEW
CONNECTION.
You can now make a new connection to open your existing broadband service, as follows.
In "Type a name for the computer you are dialling" put a new connection name (e.g.
My New Connection), then click NEXT, then insert your country code and the phone
number you are dialling: the number to enter is 0 (i.e. zero) as you are using broadband,
not dial-up. Then click NEXT.
Right-click on the new connection, and select PROPERTIES. On the SECURITY tab insert
the username and password which your existing broadband provider originally gave
you, and tick CONNECT AUTOMATICALLY.
On the GENERAL tab (while you're still
in PROPERTIES) make sure that in the CONNECT USING box you select the broadband router
device which functions as your broadband equivalent of a modem (but you'll be unlucky
if you find anything other than the broadband router listed as options here).
