It is really sad that people cannot have a simple conversation or comment on something as ordinary as a computer operating system without attacking a person on his/her perceived ability to communicate. For the Prof. I installed Linux Ubuntu Hardy Heron in a dual boot partition set up and kept Windows ME on the machine "just for fun". And yes, the ancient printer was immediately "found" by Linux, while even with drivers installed, Me refused to see the same printer. Anyway, Me is fun, frustrating and ancient. Back then, you had to do research, read, and work at getting some things to do what they were supposed to do. Now all you do is load the OS and away you go. So easy and so dumbed down. Education has done this for us, dumbed us down. Push a button and you have it, or so you think. Obviously, since the prof hated Me so much, he was lacking in the required skills to make it do what he wanted it to do. As for our young person who responded to this but did not meet the profs expectations. Do not be intimidated, do not allow anyone to ever attempt to harness your right to free speach. Do your homework as the prof said, but keep in mind that some of the best minds in American History had problems writing. And some of the most evil minds in world history had good writing / communication skills. Hitler made some dandy speaches. This started as a simple observation on an ancient operating system. Ended up being an observation as to why were in the shape were in. Highly educated people have been running our country for how long now? Keep trying Dan The Man, you will make it.
