Well I don't have SYSWININIT.EXE on my WinME so its not a default Windows app. If you do a Google for SYSWININIT.EXE there are quite few topics on this file. If Windows won't startup at all then startup in Safe Mode. Keep the Ctrl key pressed as your computer is starting and select 3. Safe Mode. Once started and do a search for this file. Delete every reference to it from the registry. If you don't have this file on your drive and its not a default Windows exe then thats the only way around it. You haven't said how long you've had this problem? If it only the last few days then you could use a boot disk and go to C;\Windows\Command and type Scanreg /restore and choose a date when Windows last started up ok. Now this is a pain with WinME you can't choose Command Prompt Only from the boot menu to do a system restore you have to use a boot disk.
