If ME is set up anything like windows 2000 click on Start >> Settings >> Taskbar & Start Menu. In the Taskbar & Start Menu Properties at the bottom of the dialogue box you will see "Start Menu Settings" just uncheck the "scroll the programs menu" in there and see if that doesn't do the trick for you
