This just in!
I found an article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base at http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q149/9/62.asp?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=windows%20protection&rnk=4&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=WINME
According to this article, the problem may be related to Virtual Device Drivers -
if anyone has any experience with the suggestions in this article I'd like to know.
