I continue to get an error message: explorer has caused in error in helper101.dll if I try to open control panel, my documents, my computer, etc. I cannot open these at all either from start or desktop icon. Help and thanks!

You have a browser (helper) hijacker (one of those search helpers that redirect you to "their paid" web sites).

See: page for a list of thing to do to check your system and try to remove all the other junk you most likely have.
