Unable to type Filename in Start, Run

I am trying to assist a friend with a problem involving the Aspienum.VXD file on
a windows ME computer. I have found what appears to be a logical solution by Microsoft.
This solution requires that I run msconfig and make a change to the startup menu.
When I click start, then run, the command box appears but it will not accept anything
from the keyboard. If I browse I can select from previously used files but msconfig
is not in the list. Any help that you can give will be appreciated . Phil

Use the Windows Explorer program (there is a shortcut for it in START > PROGRAMS)
to navigate to the C:\WINDOWS folder, and then double-click on the file MSCONFIG.EXE
in that folder.

re: Re-register the system DLL files

If the RUN box is not functioning, something is broken in your Windows registry.
To cure this you should try re-registering the system DLL files.
Download the third party program RUN95.EXE from http://www.freewareplanet.net/command2.php and run it. Then type
in its box:
regsvr32 urlmon.dll
Press Enter. You should see a brief message that the dll has been successfully registered.
Do the same with the following, one at a time, pressing enter after each:
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Browseui.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
