Firefox and Chrome have problems with scripts

My sister bought a laptop recently. It has Windows Vista on it. When visiting certain sites (Megaupload, Rapidshare) with Firefox and enabling scripts (has the NoScript extension), Firefox will freeze, causing the system to respond very slowly. Visiting the same sites with Google's Chrome doesn't freeze it, but some of the scripts don't run (the count-down things on mu and rs). I haven't tested this with IE yet. Ideas on how to fix this?
