Unfortunately, I didn't clarify well enough. I've already tried all the standard run-of-the-mill stuff: I right-click the taskbar and click on properties. I uncheck "Show Quick Launch." Yet sure enough, on restart, the Quick Launch bar is back and taking up 90% of my task bar. I wouldn't mind the Quick Launch bar if it didn't hog so much space. This is not normal behavior. Any suggestions? Any registry hacks to permanently cripple the Quick Launch bar?
