Hi, guys and girls. I use vista ultimate which also will not open files larger than
6MB but Adobe essentials 7 does, I believe Adobe will open most photos even the
adobe 4, 5 and 6 versions of essentials. I also use genuie fractals which enlarge
my photos to sometimes 56MB and Adobe has no problem with them. Of course microsoft
viewer will not open them as it is only a basic viewer and not a fully blown application
to manipulate your precious and loved photos. Adobe essentials is a worth while
application if you can afford it and well worth buying even if you buy one of the
older versions. Ifran view is also good, and free but can't really compare fully
to the Adobe cheaper versions. There is nothing wrong with your computers, it's just
that you need the correct viewer and MS doesn't supply it with is OS.
Microsoft will give you the updates for the photo gallery if they are availiable
but to date there are none so if you have a camera with more than 7MP then please
consider another photo manipulation program such as Adobe, Nero, Roxio, Coral or
even photo commander by Ashampoo which is cheap enough and very cheerfull.
Hope this helps, as all the latter names mentioned will open your larger pictures.
best regards. Steve.
