I have Vista Home and I have a constant beeping every 20 seconds or so and it jumps up on the mixer as well. It is IDT High Def. Codec. It's on the "speakers and dual headphones"...I've gone through all the sounds under the properties...It is labels as "windows default (modified)" It sounds similar (but not exact) as the "device connect" and device connect which the .wav on them is windows hardware insert and windows hardward remove. I've looked at my processes running to just see if it's something in the background but not sure what many of them are??? There are 82 processes running so on a second note, how do I know which ones I can cancel? There isn't a way to copy/paste them
