Blue screen after loading profile Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 3:02 pm Windows Vista Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Jeffrey Glenn (2 messages posted) On starting up my Vista laptop and logging in, my desktop and taskbar fail to show up. All I get is a blue background and a mouse pointer. Soon after, I get a BSOD with STOP error 0x0000008E. This all started after I installed the latest updates with Windows Update.
