Intel Core2 Quad Processor Q6600
radeon hd 4850
2gb ram
500gb hdd - about 30gb free space
gigabyte ep45-ds3l
when i try to boot the following message appears:
-------------------------------------------------------------
Booting ' windows vista'
acpi
vista loader 2.1.2
done!
fallback 1
find --set-root /bootmgr
error 17: file not found
booting 'windows nt/2000/xp'
fallback 2
find --set-root /ntldr
error 17: file not found
booting 'enter command line'
boot failed! press any key to enter command line.

i have tried the following steps but without any success.
i disconnected 2 other hard drives that where connected to make sure it was booting
from the right hard drive.
I used the windows vista cd and used start up repair 4 times and didn't help.
i also tried bootrec /fixmgr in the command line but it did not help.
some background information that might or might not help. i tried connecting a hard
drive to transfer files to this computer a few days ago. however it would not detect
the drive. when removing the hard drive and having it at the normal set up again.
the pc would not boot, it said some file was missing. I managed to load the missing
file from the windows cd and it booted. however one of the older drives in the pc
become corrupt and was inaccessible. so i used r-studio to try and recover the files
onto the c drive which is the 500gb hard drive and resulted in about 30gb left of
space. this happened last night, and today when starting the computer it would not
boot and the above message appeared.
if there is any other information required please let me know. thank you
