WhenI save a website in IE the icon alongside is not correct. For instance I tried
to save Travel Advisor and the icon along side is the Ebay logo? The link is fine,
but the odd icon annoys the hell out of me.
Any help would be appreciated. T

This file may be helpful; I put it that way as I've never used its information,
have no idea if it applies to IE8, and/or any other disclaimers written, postulated,
created in the future, and whatever else may or may not be applicable:

Just want to let you know that I am experiencing the same problems. I am using Windows
Vista 64-bit with IE8 in 32-bit mode. Hopefully, we will find a solution to this
annoyance.

Haven't found a solution yet. Ironically the correct icons come and go. One day
they will be correct, another something totally different.... Weird

When the world and IE8 get in step, this will sort itself out, meantime don't hold
your breath - Microsoft do not consider this "disconnect" to be any form of bug.
And of course if convergence does ever happen, IE9 will introduce brand-new "features"
for you to fret over :-))
