Direct 3D acceleration problem

Sorry for the double posting - I have a Nvidia TNT2 Model 64 PCI card that I just installed after upgrading to XP. With Direct 3D acceleration activated, I crash constantly in the Plus! aquarium screen saver (after it runs for about 5 minutes). With it turned off, the quality is extremely poor and the action is very slow. The screen saver is not important to me, but it does seem to highlight a problem. I've installed the XP drivers from Nvidia and Aopen, but they haven't helped. I also have not been able to use my game Alice on XP. When I contacted EA, they said that the only video card that will work is Nvidia - which I have and with the correct updates. But when I try to run the game, I get either a scrambled screen or no display whatsoever with either setting - 3D on or off. Does anyone have any advice for me? Thanks!
