winxp way slower than winme Thursday, November 22, 2001 at 5:38 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by John Alexander (4 messages posted) Hi, I run a lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet every day that is 8MB in size and has 6 charts on it that draw from 15000 lines of data. When I went from a 256MB 600mhz win98 machine to a 512MB 1.4ghz winme machine, the spreadsheet calculations speeded up considerably. Well I just upgraded that 1.4ghz machine to winxp and now the spreadsheet is slower than ever. I am hoping someone has some advice as to how I might tweak xp to speed it up. I tried downloading tweak-xp from http://www.totalidea.de/frameset-tweakxp.htm and got errors that a dll and ocx file failed to register, so I am not able to see if that could help.
