The spreadsheet has 5 "sheets", each with a chart. When I switch from sheet to sheet the cpu usage spikes to 20% for one second and the system keeps running fine, but when I switch to the biggest chart (about three times as much data as the others) the cpu usage spikes to 100% and stays there for about two minutes, and the performance monitor graph actually halts during that time, as do my other apps that are running (each of which need minimal resource). Maybe if I could figure out how to dedicate 100MB or so of memory to the spreadsheet, that might work? 123.exe takes up about 25MB of memory when this spreadsheet is running. But I don't know if the constraint is memory or not..
