hi Bob, actually this subject & it's solutions have come up in the Forum previously
but here it is anyway... Open Notepad, click File - click Open - in File Name enter
C:\WINDOWS\inf\sysoc.inf - click Open - click Edit - click Replace - in Find What
enter hide - in Replace With leave blank - click Replace All - click File - click
Save then exit, you'll then notice Windows Messenger (and several other programs)
now appear in the Add/Remove Windows Components of Add/Remove Programs. I think someone
said previously that you might have to go into folder options & get Windows to show
hidden files & folders to do this but I've never had to do that. Good luck! Carl.
