You - or your friends - need to do some research to find out if there are files from previous installations. Open a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd) and type "set" (without quotes). Look at these variables:
ALLUSERSPROFILE=C:\Documents and Settings\All Users
ProgramFiles=C:\Program Files
USERPROFILE=C:\Documents and Settings\Username
First, when I say "delete" move to a new folder in c:, don't delete right now. Explore the root directory of c:, delete any variation of "Program Files" that is not the %ProgramFiles% environment variable. Do the same with %AllUsersProfile% and %UserProfile%, Windows have this habit to create names like "All Users.WINNT", "All Users.COMPUTERNAME" etc. Don't touch the Default User, LocalService or NetworkService or any variation of these names in the "Documents and Settings" folder, but tell us if they are more than one (note that these are hidden folders) e.g. "Default User.BLAHBLAHBLAH".
