Morning, I have a Shuttle (athelon 1.24G), 1G ram, 2 drives - system and program (80g), data drive (120g). Running very well til Tuesday when any program that needs to access the directory tree (photoshop, wordpro et al) started to exhibit the really slooow response from explorer. My Computer now takes 33 seconds just to display the directory tree. In safe mode the response time is seconds. I've run HJT, and the log came back showing nothing of note. I've screened the pc with anti-spyware sw, and run zonealarm and norton. I am at a loss as to what could be causing this - hardware, software, bug, virus, annoying the mysterious Kor - all I know is that it is driving me to distraction. Please, any advice really will be helpful. Thanks. Chriscb.
