Nizami...most dialup modems are built around chips made by Conexant, PCtel and others
and are known as "soft modems" or HSP modems (host software processor) because your
PCs processor actually does most of the work. Take the modem out and look to see
what chip it's based on and also make note of any other numbers you see, then go
to Google and do a search on them. Sometimes you may have to try a few to find one
that works for you. Of course, you'll have to do this from a PC that has internet
access. Save several on one or more floppies and try them out. A good place to start
is conexant.com if it's a Conexant based modem. They don't make modems, just the
chips, but they have a bunch of generic drivers that usually work well. If no luck
there, try driverguide.com...Larry
