After restoring to 12-20, I could read the contents and get wmp to play the video
but no sound. Upgraded to wmp 10 thinking it would correct old wmp settings, but
then back to the same old problem. I think I will have to reinstall XP, as I think
it is in the registry where my problem is. Thanks for the reply. Keep on helping
the old duffers like me. JS
