Hi...I had the exact same problem and found out it was not the anti virus or Windows XP pop up blocker but the Yahoo toolbar pop up blocker. Evidently a great number of toolbars have their own blockers, (AOL, Earthlink, etc). Click on the pop blocker link on the Yahoo toolbar (I didn't even know it had one) and turn off. It fixed my problem.
