re: PC very slow Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 8:12 am Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by jcw (5102 messages posted) There are several possibilities, but you haven't given enough information for anyone to help without asking a multitude of questions, such as: - has the unit always been slow? - what hardware or software changes were made at about the time it started acting slowly? - when is it slow? always? when just on internet? if not always slow, what programs are being used when it is slow? - have you examined in Task Manager what processes are running? - have you checked what items are starting-up automatically when you start the computer? - have you recently run anti-viral and anti-malware scans? - what do you mean by "clear the cache"? deleting temporary internet files? something else?
