Sounds like your system is fine...normal locations in XP (Pro, anyway) are in Binaries, i386, and SevicePackUninstall. Do a search on msconfig.exe on your system to see. I'm on a Pro machine right now, can't remember if Home is the same and seem to remember that in Home it might be in system32. As a side note, Win2K doesn't have msconfig included, but it's a small utility that fits on a floppy. I've copied it from XP and when I add it to a 2K system I put it in system32 and it works fine.
