If at all possible,try a System Restore.If there is stuff you want to safeguard from being removed, move it to any of the folders under Documents and Settings/User/ eg My Documents. Things there are not restored to an earlier time. Then take it step by step.First remove Office 97. Check if things are still working fine. Then uninstall the other ones that you did before. Then install Office 2003. If you want,set restore points before every un-install and install. If you have made back-ups of your drive or just some files,restore them if necessary.
