Windows Pausing Frequently Monday, May 14, 2007 at 7:24 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Bill Hardwick (2 messages posted) Recently, Windows XP (Pro) began pausing very frequently. Most often in Firefox, but also in other applications. It freezes about every 30 seconds, for about 3 seconds at a time, and mostly while typing or after clicking a link or opening an application. During this 3 second period, nothing can be clicked or typed. I have run a virus scan with Norton 2002, a spyware scan with Windows Defender and Ad-Aware (Personal). I have defragmented and fixed errors with CHKDSK as well. Can anyone help? This is quite possibly one of the most annoying things imaginable. I can post a hijack this log if necessary.
