Mouse Scroll Problem With XP

I have a Dell Dimension 8300 with XP and the mouse keeps scrolling up and down, sometimes so much I loose control of what I'm working on. When it first started, all I had to do was clean the rollers and it worked fine but now that doesn't even work. It is a Logitech PS/2 mouse with a scroll button. I have tried different mice (including an optical one) and mousepad (and no mousepad) but it still does it. I even uninstalled the software and rebooted but it still does it. I even slowed the speed of the mouse down but it still does it. Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix this annoying problem? Thanks for any help.
