can't go into hardrives :(

Whenever i go into my computer and double click any of my hardrives (eg. drive c,
drive e, drive f), instead of opening it up, a pop up comes on asking me which application
i would like to open it with. the one that asks you everytime you get a file with
a new file extension the computer does not recognize...
